Happy Monday!  We will be having an English test on adverbs next Tuesday May 15th.  Please study the following;  be able to pick out adverbs in sentences page 278; identify and write adverbs that tell when where and how pages 280-282;  be able to write book titles correctly page 283;  identify and use the suffixes less and ful pages 284 and 285;  finally use adverbs to make sentences more exact pages 286 and 287.  Good-Luck and study hard.

Happy Monday!  What a wonderful Communion Day! I’m so proud of  all our second graders.  Here is a peek at the week.  English- we will start a chapter on adverbs.  Phonics- we will continue chapter on prefixes.  Reading- our two stories are The Clubhouse and Lemonade For Sale.   Math- we will continue chapter on fractions.  Social Studies- we will discuss our family history;hoe people celebrate certain customs and how to use visual sources to get information. Religion-identify sacrifices that show our love for others.  Have a Great Week!

Welcome Back and Happy Monday! Here’s a peek at the week1  English- we will start a chapter on writing a friendly letter. Phonics- the suffixes ful, less , ness ly and est.Spelling changes before adding er and est.  Reading- our two stories this week will be tex and the Big Bad T. Rex and  Let’s Go Dinosaur Tracking.  Math-we will start a chapter on geometry and fractions. Social Studies-we will discuss family histoty and diverse ethnic origins. Religion- we will continue working in our Joy, Joy book and pratice for Communion.Have a Great Week!

We will be having our English test on pronouns April 3rd and 4th.Please study the following; students must be able to pick out pronouns in sentences pages 228-231; be able to choose the correct pronoun to replace a word [ex.he for Frank]; use pronouns with verbs correctly pages 232 and 233; be able to write the correct form of the contraction page 234; identify homophones page 235; finally using pronouns in sentences pages 236 and 237. Happy Monday! We will be having a Social Studies test on Friday. Please study the following; the vocabulary words on pages 198 and 199; study the Native Americans on pages 202-205; students must know the contributions made by Squanto, Harriet Tubman, John Smith and Sacagawea; in complete sentences students must answer What do we celebrate on Independence Day? Why do Americans celebrate Thanksgiving? how to read a time-line pages 226 and 227.Finally be able to read a historical map pages 214 and 215.Good-Luck and study hard.

Happy Monday! Here’s a peek at our week!  English- we will be working on writing a description and we will be using  the dictionary to locate meanings of words. Phonics- we will cover writing irregular plurals; to form new words by adding s or es; and adding ed to words. Reading- our two stories this week are Two Lunches At The Mill and Going To Town. Math- subtract three digit numbers with regrouping;using data from a picture; and start a chapter on measurement. Social Studies- we will discuss Harriet Tubman and contributions that have influenced the nation. Religion- we will start Joy,Joy, The Mass. This is the book we will use to help us prepare for First Holy Communion. Have a Great Week!

Hi! Here’s a peek at our week! English- we will start a chapter on writing a description. Phonics- we will cover writing common abbreviations;changing y to i before adding es; writing irregular plurals. Reading- our two stories this week are Space Dreams and Man On The Moon.  Math- we will cover adding three-digit numbers with regrouping; and subtracting three-digit numbers. Social Studies-how a country grows;reading a time-line and how science and technology have changed transportation. Religion- talk about the loving service Jesus asks of us;identify ways of giving loving service.  Have a Great Week!

Hi!  We will be having an English test on Thursday, March 1st. Please study the following be able to pick out adjectives in sentences pages 176-178; be able to identify adjectives that compare pages 180 and 181; identify and write synonyms and antonyms pages 182 and 183;  be able to use a comma properly between a city and state pages 184 and 185; identify and use the prefix re and un pages 186 and 187; finally be able to revise sentences using exact adjectives pages 188 and 189. Happy Tuesday!  Here’s a peek at our week!  English- we will finish up the chapter on adjectives. A test is planned for March !st.  Pnonics- we will start a chapter on contractions. Reading- our two stories this week are Yawning Dawn and Missig One Stuffed Rabbit.  Math- we will finish chapter on 2-digit regrouping and start our next chapter on identify and write hundreds;write three-digit numbers and identify numbers that are before, after or between given numbers. Social Studies- discuss colonies and Paul Revere. Religion- we will talk about the importance of Ash Wednesday and Lent. Have a Great week!

Happy Monday! Here’s a peek at our week!  English- we will continue the chapter on adjectives.We will focus on using a and an; identify adjectives that compare;and synonyms and antonyms.  Phonics-we will finish chapter on diphthongs. Reading- our two stories this week are Paul Goes to the Ball and  The Rooster Who Went To his Uncle’s Wedding.  Math- we will continue chapter on 2-digit subtraction with regrouping. Social Studies- we will discuss colonies and how to read a history map.  Religion-explore the many actions we take daily; describe the loving service that Jesus asks of us.  Have a wonderful week!  REMINDER- students may bring a wrapped treat and cards tomorrow if they would like.
