Happy Monday! Here’s a peek at our week!  English- we will be having a test on verbs tomorrow; our next chapter is on writing a beginning,middle and end of a story. Phonics- we will start a chapter on vowel digraphs ea, oo and au and aw.  Reading- our two stories this week are Hear the Cheers and The Great BallGame.  Math- we will continue are chapter on 2 digit addition with regrouping.  Social Studies- we will discuss using tables to categorize information;identify functions of government and read about Thurgood Marshall.Religion- we will finish Making Things Right..    I will see you Wednesday at 6;20 in church For the beautiful sacrament of Reconciliation. Please have your child wear Sunday best and sit in the front pews.   Reminder Open House is this Sunday at the 10;00 mass. See you then and have a wonderful week!

Good-Morning and happy Tuesday!  We will be having an English test on Tuesday, January 24th. Please study the following;  be able to pick out vebs in sentences pages 114 and 115;identify verbs that tell about the present and past pages 116-119′  identify and use forms of be pages 120-125;   be able to write a contraction pages 126 and 127;  identify and use time0order words first, next, then and last pages 128 and 129;  finally be able to use the word and to combine sentences pages 130 and 131.  Good-Luck and study hard!

Happy Monday! Here’s a peek at the week!  English- we will finish up our chapter on verbs. A test is planned for Jan. 24th.  Phonics-we will review consonant digraphs and silent letters;recognize ar and or words.  Reading- our two stories this week are A Good Laugh For Cookie and MoonBear’s Pet.  Math- we will finish our chapter on time and then start two-digit addition.  Social Studies- we will focus on main idea and details;identify functions of government;and talk about good citizenship. Religion- we will continue working in Making Things Right.We will also start cursive this week!  Don’t forget to work on mathletics this week! Have a nice week!

Hello! We will be having a Social Studies test on Tuesday, Dec. 20th.  Please study the following all the vocabulary words on pages 100 and 101; be able to name things that link countries pages 134-137; know the difference between needs and wants pages 126

129; be able to name 3 service workers pages 112-115; be able to make a prediction and explain answer pages 102 and 103;  be able to number the steps for making a decision in the correct order pages 108-109.and finally be able to read a map pages 124 and 125. Good-Luck and Study hard!

Here is a peek at our week!  English- we will work in our grammar book until Christmas reviewing nouns,verbs and types of sentences.  Phonics- we will start a chapter on two- sylaa ble words;compound words and y as a vowel.  Reading- our two stories this week are The StoryTeller and People,People,EveryWhere!   Math- we will finish our chapter on money and have a test on Friday. Social Studies- reading diagrams;identify ways people are both producers and consumers, and using a compass rose. Religion- we will continue working in Making Things Right.  Have a great week!

Welcome back!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Here’s a peek at our week.  English- we will continue our chapter on verbs.  Phonics-we will finish our chapter on blends and begin a chapter on two-syllable words and dividing words into syllables.  Reading- our two stories this week are How I Beat The Giants and Play Ball.  Math- we will continue our chapter on money.  Social Studies- we will discuss choosing goods and services; use a decision making process and talk about services in our community. Happy Monday! Here’s a peek at our week. English- we will start a chapter on verbs. We will focus on verbs that tell about the present and past.  Phonics- this week we will cover s-blends;final blends and have a quiz on blends on Friday. Reading- we will be taking our theme reading test.   Math-we will cover ordinal numbers;odd and even numbers; classification and sorting items. Social Studies-  we will begin chapter 3 on goods and services; services in our community and trade. Religion- we will begin our Reconciliation book Making Things Right. Reconciliation has been scheduled for; Wed. January 25,2012.Have a wonderful week!

Happy Monday!  Here’s a peek at our week.  English- we will start a chapter on writing a narrative paragraph. We will focus on writing a main- idea sentence and 5 detail sentences. Phonics-recognizing l,s andfinal blends.  Reading- our two stories this week are Spiders Up Close and Anansi and the Talking Melon.  Math-solve problems by using a pictograph; skip counting patterns; finally identify numbers that are before,after or between given numbers. Social Studies- we will finish chapter 2 by reading about the Earth Angels and reviewing for a test next week.Religion-to explore the variety of God’s creation and how we can care for God’s creation. Happy Halloween!  Here’s a sneak peek at our week.  English- we will be having a test on Wed. and Thursday this week. Please study the following students must be able to pick nouns out of sentences pages 60-63; students need to find special nopuns that need capital letters pages 64-67; be able to write the plural form of a word pages 68-70; be able to write titles and dates correctly pages 71 and 72;identify compound words pages 72 and 73;and finally use exact nouns when writing sentences pages 74 and 75.  Phonics- we will start a chapter on  hard and soft c and g; and recognizing l-blends.  Reading-  our two stories this week are Furry Mouse and Two Mice.  Math- we will start a chapter on place value and number words. Social Studies- we will discuss how to conserve and replenish natural resorces; reading a bar graph and read about Rachel Carson.  Religion-discuss everyday saints in our life.Have a wonderful week!
