English we will continue working in our grammer book; phonics- we will cover r, s, initial and final blends; reading- our stories this week our How I Beat The Giants and Play Ball; math- we will start a chapter on money;social studies-we will use a map to follow a route; talk about consuming and producing and be able to read a diagram; religion- recognize and appreciate Gods love in creation and how we can care for it. English- we will finish writing our narrative paragraph and type final copy in the computer lab. Phonics- we will finish our chapter on long vowels.Reading-Our two stories this week will be about spiders.Math-identify groups of ten that equal 100;solve problems by using pictographs;extend skip counting patterns. We will be having an English test on Tuesday, Oct. 21st. The test will cover unit 3 pages 60-77. Please study the following; students need to pick out nouns in a sentence pages 60-63; they also must find the special nouns that need a capital letter pages 64 and 67 ;students must write the plural form of a noun pages 68-70 ;they must write titles and dates correctly pages 71 and 72; finally students will need to identify compound words pages 72 and 73. English- we will be starting a chapter on nouns that name people, places and things. We will also talk about special nouns ( ex. cat Fluffy ). Phonics- we will start a chapter on long vowels. Math- this week we will focus on doubles (6+6 =12) ;we will explore ways to make 10 (6+-=10). Social Studies- identify cause and effect relationships ;identify landforms and bodies of water; identify landforms on a map. Religion- recognize that God gives us free choice ; to explain what our conscience does for us and that God is ready to forgive. Have a good week.
